"They call themselves the 'Monday Morning Painters', and each week they find a special Sonoma County landscape for their outdoor artistry. Recently they gathered at Annadel Winery near Oakmont to capture the vines, rose garden and historic cabins on canvas.
The group was started by Patrick Fanning, a local Sonoma County landscape artist. To join in the outings, just show up and paint, following the group's admonition to "please be polite" as the site is often on private property.
Other painting spots this summer have included a lavender-colored barn in Kenwood, Lynmar Winery in Sebastopol, Lake Ralphine at Howarth Park and Schoolhouse Beach north of Bodega Bay. For more photos, visit the Monday Morning Painters photo gallery at
pressdemocrat.com."

The
Monday Morning Painters are a group of plein air painters
that was started several years ago by Patrick Fanning, a local
Sonoma County landscape artist. The group paints mostly
throughout Sonoma County, but has been known to venture
into adjoining counties on occasion. Many of the artists
who paint with the group today have been doing so since
its inception.
There
is nothing you need to do to join in the painting outings,
except show up and paint, and to please be polite, as we
are often on private property and need to respect all requests
of the owners.
Join us every Monday from 9AM-1PM in the warm months and
12PM-4PM during the cold months. All media welcome. Critique
is held at the last half hour of the outing.
