Low and high views of coast with waves, rocks, cliffs. From town of Bodega Bay go about 8 miles north on Hwy. 1 and turn left at the Goat Rock sign. If the access road is open all the way to the beach at the bottom, take the left fork and park in the beach lot at the very end of the road on the left. Critique will be there, too.

Goat Rock, near the mouth of the Russian River, is known for its scenic shoreline and easily accessible sandy beach. Picnic tables and restroom facilities are also available. Goat Rock beach is home to a colony of harbor seals which are fun to watch, but please stay 50 yards from the seals, especially during pupping season (March - August.) Due to the protected status of the seals, NO DOGS are allowed on Goat Rock Beach.

Thanks to past and present MMP schedulers and coordinators: Patrick Fanning, Channing Rudd, Valerie Gardiner, Char Wood, Kathy Root, Judy Butler, Mark Finney and Ellen Boulanger. Thanks to Katrina Small for the MMP's website and also to those who have contributed suggestions for painting locations. Suggestions are always needed so that we can explore new places together!
