Apple Blossoms at end of Darby Road
Sebastopol

One of the last apple blossom areas of Sonoma County. From Hwy 101, take Hwy 12 West toward Sebastopol. In town, Hwy 12 becomes Bodega Avenue. Continue on Bodega Avenue west. Turn left onto Watertrough Road. Turn right onto Burnside Road. Go 0.9 mi and turn left onto Darby Road. Follow Darby to the end and park and paint apple blossom orchards on right. Or, go back to 1470 Darby Road (large line of mailboxes) and drive up lane (Menini Trail) to 1470 for some tree/hill views and use of restroom. Critique will be there (1470) at 12:30.

Flowers of all varieties, trees, pond. Take Hwy101 south from Santa Rosa. Turn right (west) onto Todd Road. Turn left onto Old Gravenstein Hwy. Take slight left onto Gravenstein Hwy South (Hwy 116). Turn slight right onto Hessel Road. Turn right onto Macfarlane. Turn right onto Azalea Lane. Park in parking lot. This time we won’t be rained out! Critique at 12:30 near parking lot.

5297 Westside Road, Healdsburg. Gardens, historic and modern buildings that overlook a vista of rolling hils, vineyards and St. Helena. Take Central Healdsburg exit, turn left at 2nd light onto Mill St. (Mill St turns into Westside Rd). Follow Westside Rd several miles out. Parking is all the way in and right, down below buildings. NOTE: Limited parking. If upper parking lots are filled, please park in lower parking lot and walk 0.5 mile up to the center. Critique near chapel. $3.00 suggested donation.

2319 Mill Creek Lane, Healdsburg
Take the second Healdsburg exit off the freeway (Hwy 101N), marked for ‘Central Healdsburg’. Go to second light (5-way intersection) and take full left turn onto Mill Street. Go west about ¾ mile, road swings to left in front of Madrona Manor and becomes Westside Rd. A half mile after Madrona Manor take a right up Mill Creek Road. One mile up the hill, take a left on Mill Creek Lane and go to the bottom of the hill. Home is on the right. Wooden fence and gate. You can park along the right side of Mill Creek Lane, or in the back field (thru the cattle gate) or in the main driveway. Rest room in the pool house. Lots of flowers, orchard, open fields. There are nice vistas on the way up Mill Creek Road as well. 12:30 critique on the spacious front porch. (NOTE: this is not a potluck)

Charming farmhouse, outbuildings, valley views of vineyards, homes and distant eucalyptus. NOTE: Please don’t park in front of store. Kozlowski Farms is located between Graton and Forestville. Watch for Kozlowski Farm signs on the west side (left) of Hwy 116, as you are heading towards Forestville. Turn left into Kozlowski Farms. Great jams and pies in the store. Critique at 12:30 near parking lot overlooking fields.

Country views of barns, farm animals, ranch land, eucalyptus. Park on either side of driveway, NOT on street. Directions: coming from north on 101, exit Gravenstein Hwy/CA 116, turn right. Turn left on W Cotati Ave, slight right onto Maple Ave, slight right onto W School St, PARK on either side of driveway, NOT on street. Bring a dish to share at potluck/critique at 12:30 in Don’s studio in back of home.

Beautiful flower gardens, meandering brook, ponds, small footbridge, gazebo from Hitchcock class “The Birds”, all hidden behind iron gates. From Hwy 1 in Bodega Bay, turn left (west) onto Eastshore Road. Follow Eastshore Road past Local Color Gallery and continue down the hill to the Bay Flat Road intersection. About 50 feet past the intersection, park in lot on left and enter Compass Rose Garden on foot through tall iron gates. Critique in the pavilion near the back of the gardens at 12:30.

Peak lavender season with views of distant hills and vineyards. Parking below the lavender fields is requested and of course “We always encourage a visit to our Tasting Room!” Critique at the bottom in shaded area.

Lavender Barn

A large barn painted light lavender stands in fields of lavender. From Santa Rosa, follow Hwy. 12 past Calistoga Drive, past Oakmont, past Ledson and Landmark wineries. Turn left at Chateau St. Jean (8555 Sonoma Hwy). Drive to their electronic gate and turn left. (Don’t continue straight to Chateau St. Jean!) Sonoma Lavender is in front of you. Turn right onto lane, follow road around and park at the Barn. Critique near barn.

Beautiful vineyard and oak vistas, flowers, buildings, gardens. From Hwy. 101 N, take River Rd. exit. Turn left to head west on River Road. Turn left into Sara Lee Vineyards and drive up to the top parking area. Critique at the top at 12:30.

Views of where the Russian River meets the Pacific Ocean. On Hwy 1 north of Bodega Bay and Goat Rock. Hwy 116W also meets Hwy 1 near Jenner. Critique near the gift shop in Jenner on the west side (water side) of Hwy 1.

2+ acres of culinary gardens, vineyards, gazebos, chateau. From Highway 101 going NORTH, Take River Road exit. Come to stoplight and turn LEFT going over the freeway. Travel approximately 1-1/4 mile to first stoplight which is Fulton Road. Turn RIGHT onto Fulton Road. Kendall-Jackson Wine Center is less than 1/2 mile on the LEFT side of the road. (If you go over the Hwy 101 overpass on Fulton, you've gone too far.) 12:30 critique in largest gazebo near the front of the chateau.
